We hope you had a great holiday season, and are enjoying the great weather.  We are excited to share that we had a very successful food-drive over a 2 week period in December.  With the help of our great patients, we were able to donate over 700 pounds of food to Harvester’s!  See our photo gallery with some of our staff along with about ½ of the food that was donated.  Due to the great success, we plan on doing this again in the future!   THANK YOU!

With October brings Halloween.  For many kids, this is the highlight of the month, if not the year.  Who would think that Halloween could have anything to do with eyes. Well, the main theme of Halloween seems to be candy, candy, and more candy.  With candy comes the potential for weight gain and obesity.  How does this affect the eyes? In September of 1888, George Eastman got his patent for the roll-film camera.  This is pertinent because we used to take pictures of the retina, the back of the eye with cameras using film.  Just as you probably don’t use film in your cameras any more, we don’t in ours either!  We have digital imaging for the inside of eyes and the outside/front of eyes.   Digital imaging of the retina can help us to determine retinal health along with some systemic conditions.  We use the P200c by Optos.  This is an upgrade from the camera we used to have, … Continue reading →
